Filmed between 1986 and 1989 at Jervis Bay, New South Wales, Australia. Cuttlefish are marine animals of the order Sepiida belonging to the Cephalopoda class The cuttlefish are not fish but molluscs. Recent studies indicate that cuttlefish are among the most intelligent invertebrate species. The origin of the word cuttlefish can be found in the old English term cudele, itself derived in the 1400s from the Norwegian koddi (testicle) and the Middle German kudel (pouch), a literal description of the cephalopod's shape. The Greco-Roman world valued the cephalopod as a source of the unique brown pigment released from its siphon when alarmed. Cuttlefish eat small molluscs, crabs, shrimp, fish, octopuses and other cuttlefish. Their life expectancy is about one to two years

Nice dive to our local shipwreck. Translation of the text in the beginning of the video: Source skovheim.org: "Ofotfjord stranded outside Arendal 5. Mars 1977. The ship was on a journey from Fredrikstad to Bergen when the accident occurred. At two o'clock in the night the vessel stranded on Mellombaaen reef. The vessel takes after she stranded in to much water so the crew immediately calls for assistance. They are soon after picked up by the rescue vessel Tønnes Puntervold and brought to land. In the meantime Ofotfjord sinks..."

Filmed 1993 at the Coral Sea, Great Barrier Reef in Australia. A Lionfish is any of several species of venomous marine fish in the genera Pterois, Parapterois, Brachypterois, Ebosia or Dendrochirus, of the family Scorpaenidae. The lionfish is native to the tropical Indo-Pacific region of the world, but various species can be found worldwide. There are many types of lionfish that vary in size. The common lionfish generally reaches a size of 30-35cm, while smaller lionfish, like the Fuzzy Dwarf, are typically the size of a tennis ball, not including fins.The lionfish is one of the most venomous fish on the ocean floor. Lionfish have venomous dorsal spines that are used purely for defense. When threatened, the fish often faces its attacker in an upside down posture which brings its spines to bear. However, a lionfish's sting is usually not fatal to humans others.Lionfish are voracious predators. When hunting, they corner prey using their large fins and then use their quick reflexes to swallow the prey whole. In captivity, lionfish can be trained to The lionfish have very few natural predators, but the grouper and other lionfish have been found with lionfish remains in their stomachs.
